Nurasa and Food Harbour Hamburg Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Accelerate Global Sustainable Nutrition

SINGAPORE/HAMBURG – September 27, 2024, Nurasa and Food Harbour Hamburg signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Singapore to foster innovation in sustainable nutrition. This milestone event took place in the presence of State Secretary, Liv Assmann, Plenipotentiary of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to the Federal Government, the European Union, and Foreign Affairs, during the Hamburg Senate’s delegation trip to Singapore, further cementing the collaboration between two cities with rich histories of maritime trade and innovative food hubs.

The cooperation between Nurasa and Food Harbour Hamburg brings together the strengths of companies from Singapore and Hamburg and underscores the importance of global partnerships in the field of food innovation. The shared vision of both partners is to develop a holistic approach to catalyse solutions for a global population that is placing increasing emphasis on mitigating climate change and its impact on the food system while promoting sustainable production methods.

The exchange of expertise, technologies and networks will pave the way for cross-border partnerships that will benefit the regional market and the global food industry. As a major trading hub, Hamburg has become a leader in food technology, offering an ecosystem where start-ups and established companies thrive. This is supported by its infrastructure and cross-sector collaboration with research institutions, thereby fostering innovation in sustainable food production, alternative proteins, and digitalisation.
